A RESOLUTION TO CONSENT TO THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (“ODOT”) CONCRETE PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO SUM SR 8 WITHIN THE CITY OF HUDSON LIMITS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Executive Summary: The Ohio Department of Transportation requires local consent legislation allowing them to perform work within City corporation limits. The work would include concrete pavement repairs on SR 8 (SUM-SR8-08.06) from Graham Road to just North of SR 303 beginning in Fiscal Year 2016.

Purpose & Explanation
The Ohio Department of Transportation requires local consent legislation allowing them to perform work within City corporation limits. The work would include concrete pavement repairs from Graham Road to just North of SR 303 and ODOT would be responsible for 100% of the cost. The City would be responsible for 100% of any additional improvements requested by the City which are determined by the State and Federal Highway Administration to be unnecessary for the Project.
Timing Considerations
Once Council approves this Resolution City staff would forward the signed copies of the Resolution to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Staff recommends that City Council approve the recommended Resolution to give consent to the Ohio Department of Transportation to perform concrete pavement repairs from Graham Road to just North of SR 303 in Fiscal Year 2016. City staff is also requesting that an emergency clause be added to the legislation in order to protect the welfare and safety of the public, due to the condition of this section of SR 8 within Hudson.
