Executive Summary: At the February 26, 2013 City Council Workshop meeting staff recommended a resolution be passed authorizing and directing the City Manager to enter into a professional services contract (value $67,600) with Peters, Tschantz and Associates to provide for the design, bidding, construction, and project management of the Darrow Road street lighting project. Subsequent legislation was passed and the project design has been completed. Staff now wishes to review and discuss the proposed lighting design with City Council.

Purpose & Explanation
During the project discussion at the February 26, 2013 Council Workshop Council indicated their desire for staff to plan the project as all inclusive rather than as a phased approach. Doing so would allow for the completion of the entire project area on Darrow Road from Barlow Road to Norton Road. It was further agreed upon that following the completion of the proposed design the Public Works Director and Public Works staff would return to Council to review the project design, thus allowing Council Members the ability to comment. Following Council's review and discussion with staff, the consultant will make any final design changes and then prepare the project for public bid. The Public Works Department will manage the bidding process, thus bringing a formal recommendation for contract award back to Council.
