Purpose & Explanation
The Ad Hoc Finance Committee of City Council was established on February 5, 2014, to provide information to City Council to assist Council in balancing expenses and revenues for long term growth and sustainability. Specifically, the sub-committee was tasked to do the following: 1.) Identify ways to improve the planning and budgeting process including the detailed review of departments and of the Five-Year Plan and budget process; and 2.) Identify opportunities to restructure the City administration and work force to accomplish and to identify methods to achieve the highest levels of service at the lowest delivery costs to the City.
Members include Councilmen Hanink, Williams and Wooldredge. The Subcommittee has met periodically through the year.
Timing Considerations
The Subcommittee as constituted will conclude its work by December 31, 2014, at the conclusion of the 2014 budgeting process; and in the event that the work of the Subcommittee requires additional time beyond the end of 2014, the Subcommittee may be re-created in 2014 as another ad-hoc committee.
