Executive Summary
The Public Properties and Service Divisions contract for various general landscaping goods and services throughout the city. Services include downtown and city owned planted bed maintenance and cleanup, ROW turf maintenance and restoration as well as tree and shrub plantings and damage replacement including storm cleanup as needed. The estimated annual budget for this contract is $207,000. Expenditures in 2011 were $187,493.25. The proposed contract term is for two (2) years, from December 1, 2012 to November 30, 2014 with a two (2) year renewal option based on performance and pricing.

Purpose & Explanation
This contract is bid on a time and materials basis giving pricing for a variety of goods, services, labor and equipment so we have fixed pricing available should we need to utilize any of the contract items. The current contract ends on November 30, 2012.
Recently, the Public Works Department advertised for this contract publicly and has received three (3) bids. Comparison bid pricing is attached for review.

Suggested Action
Based on the competitive unit pricing submitted, and past experience with the performance of the lowest and best bidder, staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Aaron Landscaping 3001 Towpath Trail, Suite G, Broadview Heights, Ohio 44147 at the unit pricing submitted for a period of two (2) years with a two (2) year renewal option based on work performance and continued reasonable unit pricing.
