Body
Legislative History
Ordinance No. 20-143, adoption of the 2021 Budget, passed on December 1, 2020.
Resolution No. 21-62, authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract for the purchase of five (5) fleet vehicles for Police; passed on June 1, 2021.
Purpose & Explanation
As discussed during the budget meetings last year, the Police Department would like to purchase five vehicles which are replacement vehicles for three (3) Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles and two (2) Ford Police F150 Responder vehicles. The five requested cruiser replacements are in line with Fleet Department's recommendations for replacement.
Resolution No. 21-62 was passed on June 1, 2021, authorizing the replacement of five (5) police fleet vehicles. Upon approval of the legislation the order was placed, and shortly thereafter we were notified that the order was not accepted. Due to chip shortages, Ford could not fill the dealer orders and the Ohio STS was suspended for these police vehicles.
The pricing for these replacement police vehicles falls under the Community University Education Purchasing Association (CUE). These vehicles are currently not available under the Ohio STS pricing; however, the current CUE pricing is lower for these law enforcement specific vehicles than the last valid Ohio STS pricing. The CUE contracted vendor is Montrose Auto Group.
The total cost for these five replacement vehicles is $193,339.80.
