Discussion: Update on the E. Barlow Road, Terex Road and Hudson Industrial Parkway Intersections Study
Brief Description: City Staff would like to discuss with City Council and the Mayor, the first phase of the E. Barlow Road, Terex Road and Hudson Industrial Parkway Intersections Study including recommendations to be further analyzed. The traffic consultant, Prime AE Group, Inc., will present a basic outline of intersection studies and evaluation completed to date.

Purpose & Explanation
In October 2020, the City finished a Safety Study of the Terex Road, Hudson Industrial Parkway and Barlow Road intersection. The 2020 study identified short-term and medium-term improvement recommendations to be implemented along the corridor and at the intersections including lowering of the speed limit long Terex Road, improved roadway striping and signage upgrades. These recommendations were implemented in 2021.
A follow up study was started in 2021 by the traffic consultant, Prime AE Group Inc., that is evaluating long-term, intersection improvements to increase safety at the along Terex Road at Hudson Industrial Parkway and E. Barlow Road intersections.
The first phase of this updated study has developed a list of possible alternative solutions, created concept plans for each solution and then rated each alternative to identify the top four preferred alternatives.
Prime AE will present on the updated studies goals, initial alternate layouts evaluation, and top recommended improvements to be further analyzed in the second phase of the study.
With Council's concurrence, staff will then proceed with the consultant on further evaluating each of the top four alternatives to then identify a single, best alternative.
