Brief Description:  The City Staff would like to discuss with City Council the future use of the Council Chambers at Town Hall and the new Boards and Commissions Room on the first floor of City Hall.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff would like to discuss with City Council the following items regarding the new City Hall and Town Hall:

 

1.  Does City Council want to continue utilizing the Council Chambers at Town Hall for all City Council meetings, workshops and Board and Commission meetings?

2.  The City staff would like to discuss with City Council the upcoming audio-visual needs for the Town Hall Council Chambers and the new furniture and audio-visual equipment needs for the Boards and Commissions Room on the first floor of City Hall.

      a.  Detailed estimated cost for audio-visual equipment at Town Hall = $85,000.

      b.  Detailed estimated cost for audio-visual equipment at City Hall = $110,000.

      c.  Estimated cost for the City Hall Board room furniture = $20,000.  (Tables and chairs).

Suggested Action

Following the discussion with City Council, staff will place a resolution on the next Council meeting agenda reflecting Council’s recommendations in order to obtain the necessary appropriations to fund the capital items as decided at the meeting.
