Purpose & Explanation
Bids were opened on April 22, 2014.  Below is the Engineer's Estimate along with the respective bids.
Engineer's Estimate = $133,895.00
Dura Mark, Inc.      $117,408.74
Oglesby Construction, Inc.      $131,443.50
A & A Safety      $139,703.49
JD Striping and Services, Inc.      $192,918.63
The Engineering Staff is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Dura Mark, Inc. for the 2014 Line Striping and Painting Program.  The Engineering Staff is requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise, the 10% amount would be $11,740.87.
Total Project Cost = $129,149.61 ($117,408.74-contract + $11,740.87-contingency)
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with Dura Mark, Inc. for the above amounts.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Dura Mark, Inc. for the 2014 Line Striping and Painting Program and we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this legislation in order to maintain the public health and welfare.
