 Title

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CENTURY EQUIPMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

Executive Summary:  Authorization for the City Manager to enter into contract with Century Equipment to replace six turf utility vehicles for Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club.

Body

Legislative History

Ellsworth Meadows’ last turf utility vehicle purchase was made in 2007.

Purpose & Explanation

The golf course needs to replace six turf utility vehicles at this time, based on age and condition. Staff obtained quotes from turf equipment companies and compared pricing and trade in values based on state term pricing. The total cost of the six utility vehicles is $56,022.00 (State Contract # STS515800261) from Century Equipment.  Other quotes were obtained from Baker Vehicle and Shearer/ John Deere:

Baker - $57,542

Shearer/John Deere - $57,043

Timing Considerations

This equipment is needed for the 2018 growing season. Staff requested that the vendor hold current state terms pricing for this order, which expired on 1-15-2018. Therefore, staff is requesting emergency legislation to secure the order and avoid increased pricing.

Fiscal Impact

X     Currently Budgeted.

                       Supplemental Appropriation Required.
