Purpose & Explanation
As part of the 2014 approved budget, staff will be upgrading the existing video production equipment that is old technology (standard definition) and has been in use for over 14 years. The new equipment will offer better flexibility for covering public meetings that may include multi-media presentations and give these productions a higher quality presentation on HCTV's Public Meeting Channel, as well as our live web-streaming service.
The estimated cost for this project is $34,000.
Timing Considerations
The City of Hudson can realize a savings of approximately $5,686 (the cost of one camera) if the cameras are purchased before August 31, 2014. Staff is making every effort to take advantage of the cost savings.
