Special Recognition of “Kids Month” during August 2017

Executive Summary:   Mayor Basil will proclaim the month of August 2017 as “Kids Month” in Hudson, recognizing the importance of health and education for our children.  Mr. Derran Wimer will be in attendance to accept this Proclamation on behalf of the Summit County Kids Month Committee.

Purpose & Explanation

First Things First is a coalition consisting of agencies and service providers in Summit County, working together to improve services for area children and families.  First Things First has recognized the month of August 2017 as Kids Month in order to bring awareness to the importance of: New Beginnings/Early Learning, Child Health and Wellness, Family Engagement, and Child Safety.  Special events are planned for children, families, and early childhood professionals. 

 

 

The Summit For Kids Expo is scheduled on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the John S. Knight Center, Downtown Akron.  More information and a list of all scheduled activities are available online at:  <http://summitcountyfirstthingsfirst.com/kids-month-summit-for-kids>
