Executive Summary: The Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority (dba ReWorks) provides the Community Recycling Access Grant to Summit County Communities to assist in meeting the goals and objectives of the State of Ohio's Solid Waste Plan.

City has participated in the grant program since 2009.
Purpose & Explanation
Staff seeks authorization to apply for grant funding to support the City's recycling collection facility and related expenses up to $18,077.79. Below are some of the City recycling services that are supported by these grant funds:
* Pick-up and servicing of recycle dumpsters at the recycle drop off site.
* Cleaning and upkeep of the recycling center area.
* 18-gallon curbside recycling totes made available to Hudson residents.
* Recycling cans in Hudson Parks and Downtown greens.
* Event recycling containers used at community events.
* Recycling banners which are hung 2x a year as public education.
* Recycling educational flyers for Hudson residents.
* Advertisements in the Hudson Hub for recycling education and events.
* Recycle Center directional and location signage.
Timing Considerations
Deadline for application is March 25, 2016.
