Brief Description: This project will include the replacement of a block retaining wall within the City's right-of-way along Darrow Road (SR 91) at Edgeview Drive and at 7436 Darrow Road.

Purpose & Explanation
The City's Traffic Safety Committee identified that the existing retaining wall on Darrow Road (SR 91), south of Edgeview Drive is creating a site distance constraint for vehicles turning off of Edgeview Drive onto SR 91. In addition, an existing stone retaining wall constructed as part of the 2019 SR 91 North Turn Lane Project, located at 7436 Darrow Road is settling. The project will include the lowering of the block wall, grading and restoration at Edgeview Drive to improve site distances at the intersection, as well as reconstruction of a portion of the existing retaining wall at 7436 Darrow Road.
A location map has been attached for reference. This project is scheduled to be bid and constructed later this year.
The estimated project cost of construction is $66,500, which includes 10% contingency.

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise for bids and enter into a contract for the modification of the retaining wall at the intersection of Edgeview Drive and SR 91 and the reconstruction of a retaining wall at 7436 Darrow Road.
