Brief Description: The State of Ohio has dedicated $75 million to provide grants to support communities that have experienced adverse impacts to first responder personnel during the Covid-19 pandemic. This funding would allow the City of Hudson to award retention bonuses of up to 10% of paid EMS members' salaries.

The State of Ohio has dedicated $75 million to provide grants to support communities that have experienced adverse impacts to first responder personnel during the Covid-19 pandemic. This funding would allow the City of Hudson to award retention bonuses of up to 10% of paid EMS members' salaries. Current staffing levels are below pre-pandemic levels. Hudson EMS has been aggressively trying to recruit additional members. Retention bonuses would help strengthen the commitment to Hudson EMS that the 34 current paid members have and allow the City of Hudson to hold on to these more experienced members that serve as mentors to volunteers and future recruits. No match is required. The application for funding was due on June 17, 2022.
