Brief Description: Starting in July 2020, the Summit County Department of Sanitary Sewer Services (DSSS) will be starting a Sewer Investigation Project within the historic district of Ward 1. Summit County and/or their consultant, Environmental Design Group (EDG) will be present to discuss this project and answer any questions from the Mayor and Council.

Purpose & Explanation
The goal of the project is to identify locations of clean water inflow and infiltration (I & I) entering the County's sanitary sewer system. The County is mandated by the EPA to correct these violations to eliminate sanitary sewer overflow at Owen Brown Street near Brandywine Creek Tributary.
The first phase of the project involves the consultant televising the inside of the sanitary sewer lateral pipe from each house or business within the specified area (approximately 163 properties) located within the Historic District, outlined as Area K on the attached map.
Summit County received a grant from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) for the work on this project, and there should be little to no cost to the owner for this investigation. The only cost the owner may encounter is if the sewer is blocked, in which case the owner will need to have a plumber remove the blockage for the consultant to re-televise the entire sewer lateral pipe from the structure to the mainline.

EDG will need to gain access to private homes and businesses, which will be done by appointment. The firm will be promoting the project, and the City will assist with linking our website and social media sites to their site for updates, information, and scheduling of the work.
