Purpose & Explanation
The City of Hudson's Boston Mills Road Trail Project is in the detailed design stages. As part of the design and coordination of the project, City staff met with Summit County Engineer's staff to review the existing Boston Mills Road bridge over Lake Forest. It was determined that the best solution for the new trail to cross Lake Forest is to construct a new pedestrian bridge, north of the existing roadway bridge, allowing sufficient space for the County to continue maintenance of the road bridge at this location.
In order to construct the new pedestrian bridge over Lake Forest, a portion of property currently owned by the Lake Forest County Club is required (Summit County Parcel ID Number 3204095). The proposed land purchase is 15 feet wide. See exhibit attached.
The proposed parcel was valued at $3,000 by a professional appraisal consultant. In April 2024, City staff presented the land purchase to the Lake Forest Country Club Board, which has agreed to the sale of the 15 foot strip. Upon approval by the City, staff will finalize the purchase and sale agreement with the Lake Forest Country Club board.
