Purpose & Explanation
The project will involve the asphalt planning, full depth repairs, intermediate asphalt course, loop detectors and pavement striping along Norton Road from SR 91 to Stow Road.  The project will be bid at the beginning of 2013 and construction will begin after the scheduled award in June 2013, following school dismissal.
Total Estimated Construction Cost = $641,326.00
 
ODOT Funding (80%-$513,061), Local Funding (20%-$128,265 comprised of $64,132.50 from Hudson and $64,132.50 from Stow).
Timing Considerations
Following the approval of this resolution by the City Council, the Engineering Department will advertise in the local newspaper and receive/review bids for the project.  Following the bid review we will return to City Council to Award the contract to the lowest and best bidder.

Recommendation
Staff recommends that City Council approve this authorization for the City Manager to advertise and receive bids for the Norton Road STP Resurfacing Project.  We are requesting an emergency clause be added to this project in order to work within the ODOT schedule for this project.
