Purpose & Explanation

School zone speed limits are regulated pursuant to Title Six, “Operation and Vehicles” of the City of Hudson Traffic Code, Section 434.03(b)(1).  During a periodic review of the City’s Codified Ordinances, Staff identified references to school zone speed limits within the “Existing Posted Speed Limits” table (Section 410.01) of the Traffic Code.  For purposes of clarity, Staff recommends that Council authorize removal of school zone speed limit references from the aforementioned table, as well as adopt the proposed language so as to clarify that the table does not affect school zone speed limits (which are regulated separately).
