Purpose & Explanation
In early 2020, the City studied two, school zone intersections located at Hudson Aurora Road/Hudson Park Drive and Hudson Aurora Road/Herrick Park Drive. The study identified that the installation of pedestrian crosswalk enhancements at the Hudson Aurora Road/Hudson Park Drive intersection are warranted per the City's Special Sign Policy.

This project will include the construction of rectangular, rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) at the crosswalk at Hudson-Aurora Road and Hudson Park Drive. Per the study, this crosswalk meets the high pedestrian crossing volume and school zone requirements.

The estimated project cost of construction plus 10% contingency is approximately $40,000. The City staff will return to City Council if the bids are in excess of 10% of the Engineer's estimate.

The installation of the RRFBs are scheduled for late Fall, 2020.
