Staff evaluated new survey equipment that would utilize only one person to operate which would result in less staff time to collect field survey data and allow for more plan preparation and design time. In addition, staff anticipates that by utilizing new survey equipment, larger capital projects that were originally budgeted to be surveyed by a consultant would have the survey data collection work performed in-house, resulting in additional savings.
