Body
Legislative History
There is no previous legislation.
Purpose & Explanation
The project will replace the existing, 50 plus-year-old, 6" diameter cast iron water main on W. Case with a new 8" diameter water main from SR 303, approximately 1,900 feet south to Lynn Drive. The project also includes the replacement of water services between the main line and the right-of-way. This section of waterline has had approximately 13 breaks since 1997, and continues to be a maintenance issue for the City Public Works Department. Besides reducing maintenance and interruptions to the residents, the new water line will improve fire flows in this area.
The Engineering Department is designing the project in-house. Staff will be sharing the plans with nearby residents and offering site visits to discuss the project with the public prior to finalizing the design and bidding the project. The construction of the project is currently scheduled for the summer of 2023 and is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2023. The asphalt resurfacing of W. Case Drive and Lynn Drive are also scheduled for the fall of 2023, after completion of the waterline work,
Project Costs
The estimated cost of the W. Case Drive Watermain Replacement is $685,000, which includes a 10% contingency.
