Purpose & Explanation
The city staff will discuss the public feedback the city received for the proposed alignment of the new sidewalk along Middleton Road (Valley View Road to High Point Park) and Stow Road (Middleton Road to Pine Trails) as a follow-up from the October Council Workshop presentation of the proposed sidewalk alignment by our consultant (Transystems).
The attached exhibits include all the public feedback we received from the public meeting held on November 10, 2021, including online and mail feedback. Also attached for Council's information are the preliminary plans of the sidewalk designed by Transystems. (See the attached exhibits).
The overall comments received are IN FAVOR of the proposed sidewalk alignment.
Items to discuss with the Council include:
* The section in the township would connect to Pine Trails Subdivision which has approximately 60% of the residents in the subdivision within Hudson. Twinsburg Township is not able to finance the portion of the proposed sidewalk within the township.
* Sidewalk typical section along curbed sections. Adding a 2.5 ft. grass tree lawn if this typical section is needed in the final design.
* Sidewalk codified ordinance 660.05 and 1012.05 regarding sidewalk maintenance and repairs by adjacent property owner:
o The city repairs existing sidewalks in Hudson, which is not in line with the ordinance.
