Purpose & Explanation

Red crepe paper poppies are handcrafted by veterans, distributed by American Legion Auxiliary Members, and nationally recognized and worn as a symbol of the sacrifices made by the men and women who served and died for their country during a time of war.

The American Legion Auxiliary will distribute poppies in Hudson at Acme and Discount Drug Mart during Poppy Days.

I encourage citizens to wear a Memorial Poppy to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
