Purpose & Explanation
As stated in the Conclusion section of the 2013-2017 Hudson Strategic Plan (attached), staff will provide City Council members with regular reviews and updates of the progress in completing the tasks/goals outlined in the City's Strategic Plan.
Absent formal discussions to date with City Council members on the frequency and type of the Strategic Plan update reports, staff suggests a formal review of the Strategic Plan with City Council members in July and January of each year. At this proposed frequency staff is able to provide information about the Strategic Plan goals, topic areas, and tasks with a perspective on, "What has been accomplished in the past six months?" and, "What needs to be accomplished in the next six months?"
Further, by reporting mid-year, staff can also provide a detailed report showing tasks for the upcoming year. This document will provide City Council members and staff with a perspective on projects and tasks that need to be incorporated into the upcoming Budget draft. Staff will provide City Council members with different frequency reports should they desire them.
Lastly, in addition to the formal review sessions, staff will make available to City Council members a link to the Strategic Plan tracking program via Smartsheet. This link will provide City Council members the ability to review the progress of tasks/goals at their de...
