MAIN STREET) Executive Summary: Staff hired the GPD Group in 2008 to evaluate what options exist to improve the traffic flow at the intersection of Aurora Street/Clinton Street/N. Main Street and the adjacent network as well as pedestrian movement across SR 91. This extensive report was presented to City Council in 2009. This discussion was requested by the current Council to revisit this topic and the alternatives proposed in the 2009 study.

08-38-Council approval to enter into a contract with GPD Group for Engineering Design Services
Purpose & Explanation
The study was performed by the City to review Engineering options that would help to alleviate traffic congestion at this intersection and the adjacent network.  A summary of the most feasible options is attached.
Timing Considerations
The City is preparing to enter into a contract for consulting services for an AMATS funded project in this area of the downtown and recommendations from this study could be incorporated into the improvement plans for the AMATS project.
