Purpose & Explanation

The Hudson Police Department sought grant funding in the amount of $34,565.00 to upgrade the emergency dispatch system to Next Generation 9-1-1 capabilities.  The Hudson Police Department has accumulated $84,242.20 in E911 fees funded by subscribers to be used to purchase the new two position system with an estimated cost of $111,500.50.

Timing Considerations

The grant period is May 19, 2016 through May 19, 2017.

Staff recommends City Council authorize the City Manager to accept $34,565.00 from the Local Government Capital Safety Program provided by the Ohio Development Services Agency on behalf of the Hudson Police Department.
