Purpose & Explanation
A total solar eclipse will be visible in parts of Ohio on the afternoon of April 8, 2024. In Hudson, the eclipse will arrive at approximately 3:14 pm and is expected to last approximately 3m 11.9s. Staff has researched the impact to communities during past total solar eclipses and will provide information on why we are recommending that the City not hold a special event during this time period. In addition, staff will update Council on our emergency preparedness plans, communications campaign, and other efforts to help mitigate any impacts the influx of visitors could have to the community.
