Legislative History
Resolution 18-188 approved on December 18, 2018 authorized staff to seek competitive pricing on goods and services including cleaning services.
Purpose & Explanation
The City of Hudson has historically bid out cleaning/housekeeping services for City facilities. The PW Department publicly bid this contract per the Hudson City Charter. This service contract is a two (2) year contract with an option to renew the contract for an additional two (2) years if services are acceptable and pricing remains reasonable. The attached bid tab shows that while two (2) companies attended the pre-bid meeting and facilities walk-throughs, only one (1) company submitted a bid. Janco Service Industries is the low bidder at an annual cost of $112,538.90 plus a 10% contract contingency for a grand total not to exceed $123,792.79 annually. Janco Service Industries is a Hudson based company and has held the contract in the past and performed satisfactorily. This bid price will represent a 22.00% cost increase from the current contract. However, this cost increase was expected due to the increase in square footage space specifically between the Municipal Services Center (11,000 square feet) and City Hall (33,000 square feet). The contract will begin January 1, 2020 and run thru December 31, 2021, with an option to renew the contract for 2 additional years dependent upon pricing and quality of service
