Title
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1042.03 AND 1042.04 OF THE STREETS, UTILITIES AND PUBLIC SERVICES CODE REVISING SEWER RATES FOR THE MUNICIPALITY.
Executive Summary:   This ordinance will amend the City's sewer rates.
Body
Legislative History
Sewer rates were last adjusted by Ordinance No. 13-58. The effective date of the last increase was the July 10, 2013 due date.
Purpose & Explanation
The 2014 Five-Year Plan projected the need for a 5% sewer rate increase.

A 5% increase will raise the base sewer rate from $8.44 to $8.86 per 100 cubic feet and the availability charge will increase from $9.93 to $10.43.  The average monthly residential sewer bill for 2013 was $60.56 so the increase would average $3.03 per month.
Timing Considerations
At the April 16, 2014 meeting, Council will need to set a public hearing for May 21, 2014 with passage of the ordinance to follow.  The increases would not be effective until the July 10, 2014 due date.
