Legislative History
Resolution 14-122 authorized the contract to enter into a professional services agreement with Magellan Advisors for a broadband needs assessment and business plan.
Purpose & Explanation
At the February 10, 2014, Magellan presented the needs assessment and business plan to City Council. At that time, Council gave staff the direction to move into Phase II of the broadband project.
The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Magellan Advisors to continue with the next phase of the broadband project. This phase will include the following tasks:
1) Conceptual Design
2) Tactical Implementation
3) Service Provider Outreach
All three tasks in Phase II will be completed concurrently. Each of these tasks and project deliverables are described in detail in the attached proposal.
Total Contract = not to exceed $58,500
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with Magellan Advisors LLC for the above amount.

X Supplemental Appropriation Required - we will re-allocate a portion of the personnel budget from the Asst. City Manager and Admin. Office Manager positions to cover the cost of this phase
