Purpose & Explanation
This project consists of the repair and rehabilitation of 15 sanitary sewer manholes within the City.  Locations include manholes on Boston Mills Road, Hudson St., and the sanitary sewer trunk line north of the Turnpike.  This project will help to extend the useful life of these sanitary sewer structures, improve their integrity and eliminate the "clean" water infiltration that these manholes are contributing to the downstream sanitary sewer system.  The repair work will consist of repairing the brick and mortar, sealing leaking joints, resetting or replacement of frames and covers, adjusting manholes to grade, leveling and installing chimney seals as needed.  These manholes are visually inspected by the City and chosen based on their condition and signs of infiltration.
