The house has poor water quality and a failing well system. In lieu of digging a new well, the owner has requested to tap the water main located on SR 303 and abandon the well.

Purpose & Explanation
In 1998, the Boy Scouts of America and the National Parks funded the installation of the 12" water main on SR 303 (Boy Scout Water Line) to supply water to the Boy Scouts camp and National Park facilities. To allow the project to move forward, the Cities of Hudson and Cleveland entered into a separate memorandum of understanding in which the water line could be extended, provided the Boy Scouts and the National Parks, are the only parties permitted to tap the line. Any other parties desiring to tap the line would require written approval from the Boys Scouts of America, the National Parks, Cleveland Water and the Village of Boston Heights.
As part of the original agreement between the Boy Scouts and the City of Hudson, the City is also to be notified of any additional tap-in beyond the originally intended parcels or for any other use than the Boy Scouts and the tap-in must be approved by a resolution passed by Hudson City Council.
Records indicated that the house at 6052 Olde Eight Road was originally built in the 1850's. The current owner purchased the property in 2011.
