Legislative History
Res. No. 14-155, authorized permission to bid the Clocktower Roof Replacement & Masonry Project.
Purpose & Explanation
The City currently has $10,000 budgeted for necessary roof and masonry repairs to the Clock Tower, of which $6,500 has already been spent on masonry repairs.  Roof repairs will require scaffolding the tower, removal of the rotted decking beneath the copper roof, replacement of the copper roof with a rubber membrane roof and curbing, and reworking of the hammers and their supporting framework.  Roof repairs exceed the budgeted amount and are estimated at $45,000.  The City of Hudson can apply for a $30,000 grant from Lowe's Community Partners.
Timing Considerations
Awards will be announced at the end of August.  The Clock Tower repair project would begin on 9/28/2015 and end 10/23/2015.
