Purpose & Explanation
Bids were received on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 for the 2015 Line Striping and Painting Program.  Below is the Engineer's Estimate along with the respective bids.
Engineer's Estimate: $138,159.00
Dura Mark, Inc.      $128,879.76
A & A Safety      $143,579.68
 
The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Dura Mark, Inc. for the 2015 Line Striping and Painting Program.  The Engineering Staff is requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction.  The total amount would be $141,767.74.
Total Contract = $141,767.74 ($128,879.76-base + $12,887.98-contingency)
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with [Contractor Name] for the above amounts.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Dura Mark, Inc. and we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this legislation in order to maintain the public health and welfare.
