Legislative History

City Council appointed the 2015 Charter Review Commission on January 6, 2015, and March 3, 2015.  The Commission held an organizational meeting on January 28, 2015.  During six subsequent meetings, Commission members reviewed each Article of the City Charter and considered proposed changes and public comments.  After unanimous approval at the meeting of June 11, 2015, Chairman Duff submitted the attached report to City Council, which contains the Commission’s proposed Charter amendments.  This report was previously forwarded to elected officials.

Purpose & Explanation

It is required that the Charter Review Commission’s proposed Charter amendments be submitted to the voters for the November 3, 2015, election.  City Council will determine if the proposed changes will be presented individually, as a group, or a combination thereof.

Timing Considerations

A copy of the adopted Ordinance must be submitted to the Summit County Board of Elections no later than September 4, 2015.
