Purpose & Explanation
The Public Works Department budgets annually for contract tree planting services along various streets within Hudson, on the public greens, and on public properties. The Public Works Department budgets for this contract via the Street Trees & Greens budget, and the Hudson Public Power budget. Street Trees & Greens budgets $23,000 annually for tree planting, whereas Hudson Public Power budgets $10,000 annually for tree planting.

The Public Works Department received three (3) bids for this contract. The contract is a two (2) year, two (2) month contract, with an option to renew for two (2) additional years based on adequate performance and if pricing remains reasonable. The attached bid tabulation shows the current contract and the three (3) bidders for the new contract. The new contract amount represents a 3.17% cost increase from the current contract.
Timing Considerations
The two (2) year, two (2) month contract begins on November 1, 2015 and concludes on December 31, 2017.
