Proclamation: Special Recognition of “Kids Month” during August 2015.
Executive Summary: Mayor Currin will proclaim the month of August 2015 as “Kids Month” in Hudson, recognizing the importance of health and education for our children. Mr. Derran Wimer will be in attendance to accept this Proclamation. He is the Chair of the Kindergarten Readiness Committee and Executive Director of the Summit Education Initiative.

Purpose & Explanation
In the attached correspondence, Russell Pry, Summit County Executive, asks that community leaders recognize the month of August 2015 as Kids Month in order to bring awareness to the importance of early childhood education, screening, and wellness. This year, Kids Month will focus on the following topics: early learning/new beginnings, family, child health, and child safety. Special events are planned for children, families, and early childhood professionals.
