Purpose & Explanation
Over the last 7 years Hudson Public Power has been working towards the development of a comprehensive Outage Management System (OMS). A complete OMS will assist in the prediction of system failures, service restoration efforts, identifying outage areas and customer account data, and improving the efficiency of the HPP crews. Some of the system components already in place consist of the automatic meter readers, GIS mapping of the system assets, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system improvements and upgrades. The next step in this process is to acquire the software and begin the implementation of the programming to operate the fixed network collector and repeater equipment. The professional services and software will cost $97,220.00. These services are supplied by Itron Inc. which is the sole source vender for use with the electric systems Itron AMR electric meters.
