Purpose & Explanation
The Hudson Park Board has placed a high priority on the elimination of portable toilets within the parks in highly used locations. In order to minimize costs, several different types of structures were priced and evaluated. The Park Board has agreed that a precast concrete structure would best serve our purpose. Structures from several vendors were priced and evaluated. The cost of one restroom is $38,490 including installation. The purchase of three restrooms total $115,470. We would like to include a 10% contingency as well in case there are issues with installation. The total request is for $127,017.00 including a 10% contingency.
Timing Considerations
The purchase would be completed through the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) contract #022113-CXT. It is anticipated that the installation of restrooms will occur this fall. The source of funding will be from the Parks carry over balance.
Fiscal Impact
Currently Budgeted
X Supplemental Appropriation Required
Appropriation Not Required.

Recommendation
Suggested Action
Staff recommends entering into a purchase and installation contract with CXT Concrete Buildings for the purchase of three prefabricated concrete bathroom structures to be installed at Oak Grove Park, Colony Park and Cascade Park not to exceed the amount of $127,017.00 including a 10% contingency and declaring an emergency.
