Executive Summary:   This legislation seeks approval of the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated by the City Manager with the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association for Dispatchers and authorization for the City Manager to enter into said agreement.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff recommends that Council pass the attached legislation to authorize the City Manager to enter into this bargaining agreement, to be effective January 1, 2015, which covers terms and conditions of employment and other related matters for bargaining unit members of the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association for Dispatchers.  The three-year contract will be effective from January 1, 2015 thru December 31, 2017.  The Agreement was ratified by union membership vote as of August 5, 2015. 

Timing Considerations

Emergency language is necessary in order for the contract to be effective immediately, retroactive to January 1, 2015.
