Purpose & Explanation
The 2015 Annual Concrete Replacement Program was awarded to CATTS Construction, Inc. earlier this year, in which the contract included approximately $120,000 in repairs to SR 8 that were completed earlier this summer. Since the work was completed, additional repairs have arisen within other areas of the roadway and the Contractor has provided the City with the estimated cost to perform these repairs. The City staff has reviewed the cost estimate for this work and the contractor is maintaining their unit prices from their bid this year. There will be an additional cost for mobilization and maintenance of traffic. The contractor's work on SR 8 earlier this year was satisfactory and in our opinion these costs are fair. Note: The repairs to SR 8 are the responsibility of the Municipality, and we will need to coordinate this work with the Ohio Dept. of Transportation on any closures or traffic delays.
CATTS Construction, Inc. proposal for the cost of the repairs (See attached estimate for Priority #1 repairs) = $ 190,877.20. Staff is recommending an approximate 5% (4.78%) contingency for a total cost of the repairs = $ 200,000.00.
