Body
Legislative History
The Hudson Library and Historical Society has a 2.3 mill operating levy that will expire at the end of tax year 2015 (collection year 2016). The Library is requesting renewing the 2.3 mills and increasing it by .6 mill for a total of 2.9 mills.
Purpose & Explanation
The Library made a presentation to City Council at the August 4, 2015 Council meeting explaining the need to renew the operating levy and increase the millage. The Library does not have legal authority to place a levy on the ballot and has requested City Council do it on the Library's behalf.
There are two separate resolutions required to be passed by Council. The first is the resolution of necessity and requesting the County Fiscal Officer certify the estimated revenue from the levy; the second resolution is to approve putting the levy on the ballot.
