Executive Summary: Staff is seeking permission to receive bids to replace existing athletic field lighting at Oak Grove Park.

This project was included in the 2015 Capital Budget at the amount of $140,000.00.
Purpose & Explanation
The existing athletic lights were installed in the 1980’s using used wooden poles. Over the last several years, the poles and light structures have deteriorated significantly. Staff hopes to replace the equipment with a lighting system similar to the one used at Barlow Farm Park.
Timing Considerations
The new athletic lights will be installed prior to the 2016 baseball season.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends granting permission to bid this project and we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this legislation in order to maintain the public health and welfare.
