Executive Summary: Mr. Ed Resnick, Environmental Awareness Committee Chairman and Mrs. Leanne Schumacher, Environmental Awareness Committee member, requested that the 2015 Environmental Stewardship Award be presented at the November 3, 2015, City Council meeting.

Purpose & Explanation
The Environmental Awareness Committee (EAC) has presented the Environmental Stewardship Award over the past four years to local businesses, organizations, or individuals who have maintained environmental sustainability. Applications for the award have been announced via the City website and the Chamber of Commerce. Past winners have been Hudson’s Restaurant, Dr. John White, DDS, Laurel Lake Retirement Community and Taste of Hudson.
The winner this year was chosen based on their commitment to protecting the environment, maintaining a sustainable community and continuous support of the Environment Awareness Committee, Parks Department and Tree Commission.
This year’s winner will be announced at the Council Meeting.

Staff recommends City Council support the EAC’s request to present the 2015 Environmental Stewardship Award to this year’s recipient.
