Body
Legislative History
None.
Purpose & Explanation
The 2015 fleet replacement budget included the purchase of several vehicles for various departments. These purchases have been completed. Due to pricing on several vehicles coming in lower than anticipated, $44,195 remains in the fleet replacement budget. Staff hopes to use these funds to replace a vehicle that was previously scheduled for replacement in 2016. The vehicle to be replaced is a 2006 pickup truck with over 90,000 miles on the odometer. Maintenance costs on this vehicle have exceeded $10,000 over the last five years. This vehicle will likely be repurposed into a less demanding role within another department or auctioned utilizing the Gov-Deals auction service. The vehicle to be purchased will be a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The CUE price for the vehicle will not exceed $31,000.
Timing Considerations
Staff would request emergency legislation to expedite the ordering of the truck and associated equipment at the price quoted.

Recommendation
