Purpose & Explanation

The Fire Prevention and Safety Grant could provide funding of approximately $15,000 for an electronic fire extinguisher training tool for the Hudson Fire Department to provide fire extinguisher training to businesses, residents, and students.  There is a 5% match required for the grant. 

Timing Considerations

The deadline for the grant is May 6, 2016.

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to apply for grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for a Fire Prevention & Safety Grant to fund an electronic fire extinguisher training tool.
