Resolution No. 15-196 provided permission to seek bids and competitive pricing for the 2016 budget year. 

Purpose & Explanation

As per the 2016 approved Parks Department budget, Parks staff has solicited pricing for the purchase and installation of playground shade structures for Veterans Way Park playground. The 2016 budget amount for these structures is $62,000. The structures will be purchased through GameTime, c/o David Williams & Associates, Inc., utilizing U.S. Communities Cooperative Pricing, Contract No. 110179.  The final cost for the equipment and installation will be $41,330.17. 

Timing Considerations

Staff wishes to move forward quickly with the purchase to have the equipment installed prior to summer.

Staff recommends City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a purchase agreement with GameTime, c/o David Williams & Associates, Inc., 1510 W. State St., P.O. Box 3315, Alliance, Ohio 44601, for the purchase and installation of shade structures for Veterans Way Park playground at a total U.S. Communities Cooperative purchase price of $$41,330.17.
