Purpose & Explanation

The Hudson Police Department is seeking a COPS Anti-Heroin Task Force grant to hire a patrol officer to allow a current experienced officer to be transferred to the detective bureau to work specifically on drug enforcement and investigation, with assignment to the Summit County Drug Task Force.

Timing Considerations

The grant is due by June 1, 2016.

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager or her designee to submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice COPS Anti-Heroin Task Program.
