Purpose & Explanation

Staff is seeking funding for Lean continuous improvement consulting and training from University of Akron’s UA Solutions. The cost of the training and consulting for the Utility Billing process and the Community Development Application process projects is $44,000.  The Local Government Efficiency Program grant would provide $39,600 (90%), and the City of Hudson would be required to provide $4,400.00 (10%).

The grant is due on May 16, 2016.

Staff recommends Council affirm the application to the Ohio Development Services Agency for a Local Government Efficiency Program grant for Lean training and Kaizen Event (Continuous process improvement project).
