Proclamation: Special Recognition of “Kids Month” during August 2016.
Executive Summary: Mayor Basil will proclaim the month of August 2016 as “Kids Month” in Hudson, recognizing the importance of health and education for our children. Mr. Derran Wimer will be in attendance to accept this Proclamation. He is the Chair of the Kindergarten Readiness Committee and Executive Director of the Summit Education Initiative.

Purpose & Explanation
In the attached correspondence, Russell Pry, Summit County Executive, asks that community leaders recognize the month of August 2016 as Kids Month in order to bring awareness to the importance of: New Beginnings/Early Learning, Child Wellness, Family, and Child Safety. Special events are planned for children, families, and early childhood professionals.
